Simple and New Mehndi Designs

In the Indian subcontinent, mehndi (also written mehandi) is a form of body art and temporary skin decoration in which decorative designs are drawn on a person’s body using paste, made from the powdered dry leaves of the henna plant, which is then applied to the skin. 

The early years

Originally, henna was used to reduce heat in the body. To keep the body cool, a dot was placed on each hand’s palm. People who used henna for the first time began adding lines and other shapes to the original dot on their palms because they were bored with the appearance.

Her career started as a childhood singer.

It is customary to apply mehendi to women in India for Hindu weddings and festivals such as Karva Chauth, Vat Purnima and Teej, Bhai Dooj, Navrathri and Durga Pooja.

By age 16, she had already sung backup vocals for 5 Grammy winning singers.

But a sudden career pivot to the silver screen catapulted her early fame. She soon starred in 5 TV shows, and 4 major motion pictures.
